Your first port-of-call should be the riverside market Wick Wonderland, run by award-winning restaurant Barge East. The Christmas market runs Saturdays and Sundays until December 17, featuring local artisans and businesses. Make Christmas memories (and fill up those school holidays) with a host of fun festive events for children, starting with a classic Christmas pantomime at the Theatre Royal Stratford East. This year, it’s Jack and the Beanstalk, starring Jack, his cow Winnie the Moo and his mum, Milky Linda, in their hometown of Splatford. The pantomime runs until January 6, 2024. Find out more.
For some festive music, try the acclaimed concert series Bach to Baby, at St John of Jerusalem church, with classical music performances for the whole family.
