Signorelli brings the taste of Italy to Stratford Cross with freshly baked focaccia, pastries, and their own signature blend of specialty coffee from independent roaster The Roasting. Simplicity is key for Signorelli, using only the best ingredients to create delicious flavours in each one of their baked goods. They also minimise food waste as much as possible by turning bread into breadcrumbs, or by using delivery companies to sell items at a reduced price to the community! If breakfast isn’t your thing, why not pay a visit for a post-work aperitivo? Enjoy classic cocktails and delicious small plates tasty enough to transport you to Italy, even on a grey afternoon.
Signorelli is open from 6am to 6pm every day.
Where: 103 Lauriston Rd, E9 7HJl
Elbows Café has a very limited online presence, so the best way to experience it is to grab your coat and go in blind for breakfast or brunch. You’ll almost certainly be knocked back by its beauty, perfectly in keeping with its Victoria Park Village surroundings. Elbows Café’s lack of a website hasn’t stopped them from building up a dedicated fanbase who unanimously describe the staff as having a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude.
Elbows Café is open to early risers from 7am daily.
Where: Endeavour Square, E20 1GL

Tina We Salute You’s East London proprietors Sharon and Fraser are nuts about coffee, and that’s why they run one of the best cafes, especially for coffee in Stratford London. If you’re after something a little stronger though, they know their way around a mulled apple gin, which they occasionally serve with brunch on the weekend. The vibrant wall art is the icing on the cake, and it’s all for sale so you can even take a little piece of Tina home with you.
Brunch at Tina We Salute You is served between 10am and 3pm on weekends.
Where: 51-53 West Ham Lane, E15 4PH
Winners of the Time Out Love London Awards, Sawmill Café is a family-owned bakery and café run by a family of breakfast lovers. As such, the early hours at Sawmill will have you pinching yourself to make sure you’re not still dreaming. As well as fresh coffee, they serve up a banquet of different breads, pancakes and a full English breakfast as well as multitude of brunch options to help you start your day right.

The espressos at 46b are appropriately small to match the intimate surroundings (the whole café only fits 5 tables) but they definitely pack a punch. They’re committed to using top quality beans from fellow East Enders Square Mile Coffee Roasters, and the result is not only a delicious hit of caffeine but a community atmosphere that keeps everyone happy to sit shoulder to shoulder.
46b Espresso Hut is open from 8 am on weekdays, and 8:30 and 9:30 on Saturdays and Sundays respectively.
