The Best Dog Friendly Pubs in and around Stratford, East London
Dog ownership soared across the UK during Brexit and many of us want to take our faithful hounds out and about with us. A pub is a favourite joint, perhaps following a bracing walk. Here are some of our favourite places in Stratford, and other parts of East London, that are dog friendly to visit with your canine companion!

Just around the corner from Stratford Cross and Stratford Station is The Cow, Westfield. A great spot for breakfast, lunch, dinner and parties, their Sunday roast is also something to shout about and Fido can be by your side.
In fact, The Cow love dogs so much that they have introduced a dog club! Every other Sunday if you arrive by 11am you can meet like-minded people and go for a dog walk in the fabulous next door Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, returning to the pub for a tasty roast with Yorkshire puddings, goose fat potatoes and seasonal vegetables. There are also vegetarian options.
Find them - 4 Chestnut Plaza, Montifichet Road, E20 1GL
Affectionately named after King Eddie, this traditional 19th century British public house, set in the heart of Stratford, welcomes you and your dog with classic pub dishes like fish and chips, bangers and mash, and homely steak pie - all washed down with unusual ales aplenty. Your canine friend can stick to the water, though. Please note that dogs can’t go in the restaurant but there is plenty of space outside and it makes an excellent destination after a nice walk in nearby Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Weather permitting, at the Printhouse in Stratford, you can enjoy some time outside in their huge courtyard, situated underneath the stunning Sugar House Island Tower and overlooking the river. Here, accompanied by your waggie-tailed bestie, you can enjoy a selection of small plates, sharing platters and delicious pizzas. Should things take a turn for the worst, the ceiling to floor windows allows you to take in the view from a warm and cosy environment, too.
G&T lovers can discover new gins, tonics and flavour combinations with a huge variety of premium gins on offer created in their very own distillery. However, take care to not be found a little the worse for wear in charge of a dog!
Find them: 133 High St, London E15 2RB.
If you fancy venturing out further than Stratford, to the west of Stratford Cross is the fabulous space that is Victoria Park. With one of East London’s largest beer gardens the People’s Park pub is a welcome space for dogs after a long walk and there are treats and water on hand for your four- legged friend. Feeling hungry yourself, they offer great pub grub, delicious small plates as well as a class Sunday roast.
Find them - 360 Victoria Park Road, E9 7BT
Also on the edge of Victoria Park, is the Royal Inn, a perfect place to take your leashed dog on a Sunday for a pub grub classic; their mouth-watering roast dinner. After enjoying your meal and a pint of lager (or bowl of water), you can both take a stroll through Victoria Park to burn off those calories.
It’s a popular spot on a Sunday, with outdoor seating that makes you feel you are part of the park in summer, so we recommend booking a table in advance.
Find them - 111 Lauriston Road, E9 7HJ
A few minutes’ walk from Leytonstone underground, this traditional English pub, serving craft ale, cocktails and all your favourite tipples, makes a great spot to bring your canine friends who are warmly welcomed. The pub has a massive pub garden to chill with them in the shade or sun, and if they are well behaved, they can run around to burn off some energy with new doggy friends.
Of course, it’s not just about the dogs. On Sundays the humans can tuck into a traditional roast with a multitude of meat, vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
Find it - 640 High Road Leytonstone, E11 3AA
