Stratford Cross is not like most other urban regeneration you’ll find in the city. As part of Stratford’s wider transformation, it builds on the legacy of London 2012 to deliver an environment with sustainability ingrained at its core.
A Lendlease project, it encompasses sustainable workspaces designed with wellbeing in mind, an abundance of biodiversity initiatives, and a low-carbon energy centre fuelling residential and commercial buildings. It’s a place where people and nature flourish together. A place which delivers value without ever compromising on quality or performance.
BREEAM Outstanding
2 Redman Place and the Pavilion have already achieved Outstanding awards from BREEAM — the highest certificate from the world-leading authority on sustainable buildings. By building with low-carbon materials, and enacting efficiency measures such as smart metering, water-efficient fixtures and waste minimisation processes, these buildings minimise their impact on the environment and will operate sustainably well into the future.
Green, clean space
Stratford Cross sits across the water from 560 acres of rolling green space. Thriving with 6,000 trees and a rich variety of plants, which in turn bring new insects and birds to the park, it has enhanced the area’s natural biodiversity. But above that, it’s also become a place for people. A haven in the city, and a space that’s making Stratford a cleaner and more pleasant place to be.
Low carbon energy
Stratford Cross is part of the largest decentralised energy scheme in the UK. Each one of our buildings runs on low-carbon, efficiently produced energy, Produced by biomass boilers at Stratford District Heating and Cooling network’s two energy centres.
Greater means of transport
Buoyed by the Olympics, Stratford’s connectivity has significantly improved over the past decade. A big part of this is the introduction of green transport, with exceptional facilities available to both residents, visitors and employees. For cyclists, there are bicycle racks, folding bicycle spaces, accessible Sheffield stand spaces and shower facilities within the majority of workplaces.
Absolute zero by 2040
Lendlease has also launched Mission Zero — an ongoing commitment to being Absolute Zero Carbon by 2040. It consolidates everything the business is striving to achieve sustainably, to target the biggest threat to our planet: climate change.
